  Jamie Theakston

Jamie began broadcasting traffic bulletins during his Business Studies degree, later becoming a sports presenter.

He moved to GLR to produce/present the Saturday Sport Show at the age of 23.  Jamie became a TV Presenter on the BBC TV's  Landmarks and then the O Zone - which he co-presented with Jayne Middlemiss.

He went on to direct and produce the show, and Jamie and Zoe Ball took over Saturday mornings with a brand new TV series of Live & Kicking in September 1996.

Jamie Theakston joined Radio 1 in April 1999 to present the Sunday Lunch show. He fronted the One Big Sunday events during 2000. He moved to a Saturday afternoon slot in 2002 and his guests included Britney Spears, Natalie Imbruglia, Emma Bunton, and Hear'say. His shows included humorous interviews with people carrying out crazy events.

Jamie Theakston left Radio 1 in 2002 to persue an acting career, his last show being broadcast on September 28th.

From Easter 2005 Jamie presents the Monday-Friday flagship breakfast show with Harriet Scott on London's Heart 106.2. He takes over from current breakfast show host Jono Coleman. Jamie brings with him his own natural, engaging and easy-going style.

Speaking of the move, Jamie said; 'I can't wait to get stuck in - it will great to be on Heart 106.2 and great to be back in radio!'
