The jingle, "This is Radio One Big News in London" was played by Emperor Rosko and others. It is from PAMS Series 34B - Music Power and was designed to namecheck the city from which the station broadcast. For example, "Super WQAM Miami ...Super City" was the version produced for WQAM. Although a national station, in the early days Radio One's identity was strongly linked to London (and Big L Radio London), with the "London Bridge is falling down" melody turned in to "Radio One is Wonderful". No other UK cities were namechecked in this particular Radio One "Big News" jingle.

I have CDs of various PAMS jingles and one has lyrics " This is Radio One Big News in London- Big City" I know Radio one copied Big L jingles, and that many Americans refer to England as London so my question is this - was that jingle ever aired, and was there an intention to name check big cities?
Thanks
Paul
